Days in our Toddler class are filled with age appropriate, fun-filled play and learning! From practicing colors, letters, and numbers, to dancing and singing silly songs and reading books, Circle Time is an all around favorite part of the day. Daily art projects allow for creativity and imagination as your child creates their very own masterpiece to either take home or display proudly in the classroom. Outdoor play is another class favorite, the children enjoy riding trikes, playing in the sandbox, catching bubbles, and coloring with chalk. And of course you can’t forget inflatable play! Our toddlers greatly enjoy playing on Baby Dino Lake as they run, jump, and climb gaining valuable large motor skills. Each evening you will be provided with a daily report with details on your child’s day such as diaper changes, potty training efforts and daily activities.
Our Preschool Program focuses on further developing skills that were introduced in Toddlers. Circle Time consists of practicing what sounds letters make, counting backwards, and combining hand and body motions with songs. In addition to daily art or sensory projects, the classroom also has an “Art Center” that is kept available to the children throughout the day and offers a variety of materials for the children to use when they would like. Fine motor skills are practiced as they learn how to hold a crayon correctly and how to cut along the lines of basic shapes. Math and Science skills begin to develop as they start to explore patterns and matching and discover how mixing two colors can create a whole new color During their time in our preschool program the children also begin to learn and develop social interaction skills as they play in the classroom’s “Dramatic Play Center”. From dress-up clothes and pretend food items to a tool box and work station the children greatly enjoy acting out the roles of adults in their lives. Friendships are made and lessons are learned on resolving conflicts with our words rather than angry or hurtful actions.
PRE-K TREE FROGS (4-5 years)
Our newest addition to the center, the Pre-K Tree Frogs Class is aimed at helping to prepare children for kindergarten. Building off the skills developed in preschool, our pre-k children begin to work on things such as learning the days of the week, months of the year, handwriting, sight words, and basic addition/subtraction. A major focus in our Pre-K program is fostering and promoting independence, positive self esteem and good decision making. Art projects, games, and other learning activities are planned with this in mind. Whenever possible the children are allowed to make their own choices and do things all by themselves. Designated helpers each day help with jobs around the classroom such as passing out snack, picking books to read at Circle Time or leading songs.
Our After School Care Program provides a fun, safe, active environment for your child to come to after school. From daily art projects to fun games and activities that encourage teamwork, to inflatable and outdoor play, your child will have opportunities to burn off some energy and while making new friends. Monday-Thursday we offer a 30 min. homework help program for those who wish to participate. During this time we provide a quiet study place free from distractions overseen by a teacher who can lend a helping hand. Prizes are handed out daily for those who chose to participate. Along with prizes, students can also earn daily points that go toward earning a special party of their choosing.
Each week our teachers post lesson plans in all of the classrooms to help keep you informed about what your child will be learning. All children are provided with a morning and afternoon snack daily.
We accept CCDS.
